The Diagnosis

The throat. The voice. How could I develop a dis-ease there?

In October 2025, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I’m cancer-free now — the recovery was straightforward — but the diagnosis cracked something open that no amount of branding work, business strategy, or astrological study had fully reached. As a spiritual person, I went straight to the symbolic meaning. The thyroid. The throat. The voice.

I advocate. I speak up. I share my opinions. But under a Mercury Retrograde, the real meaning landed: my thyroid cancer wasn’t about how I spoke to others. It was about how I was speaking to myself.

"People don't want to hear what I have to say. I'm not enough." I had been running that dialogue every minute of every hour. And those beliefs weren't ones I invented — they were inherited. From a world that told me I was too white in some spaces, too brown in others. Not enough, in all of them.

I had forgotten my original assignment. My voice before silencing. My worth before colonial constructs. My design before conditioning. I was still fighting myself — and my body sent me the message I had been too busy to hear: come back to your origin.

That moment is why this website exists in its truest form. Why this book exists. Why the Star-Powered Leadership Spiral Journey is the framework it became. The rebrand, the new language, the deeper purpose — all of it accelerated from that diagnosis. Not because of a life-changing diagnosis, but because I finally stopped fighting who I was born to be.

The Diagnosis

None of this was my plan — but it was my stars' plan.

These constant identity crises that become rebirths. During my Saturn Return, I left Hawaiʻi and landed in San Francisco so I could reinvent myself. I built a web design company. I became a soccer mom, which genuinely surprised me. I discovered astrology not as a hobby but as a navigation system — and out of that discovery, the AstroBrand® Method was born.

Nothing happens without Jeff.

Jeffry Campanero is my right-hand man — and I mean that literally. Nothing in this operation happens without him. Web and podcast production, client management, scheduling — if it gets done, Jeff made it happen. He started here when the company was still called Flair Designs, coming in as a graphic design intern straight out of the San Francisco Academy of Art. That was a long time ago. He never really left, and I’m so glad he didn’t.

Here’s the thing about Jeff that still gets me: he’s Filipino — Ilocano, same as me — and he grew up on the Leeward side of Oʻahu, same as me. We just didn’t know each other there. We had to travel thousands of miles to the mainland to find each other, two kids from the same stretch of island, building something together in San Francisco. If that’s not written in the stars, I don’t know what is.
