The Festival of Lights

This Libra New Moon arrives in the midst of Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights—illuminating the moonless night of the 10th lunar month in late October or early November.

New Moon Libra

In this chart, Libra offers us the symbolism of Shiva and Shakti, Yang and Yin, Action and Reception, Light and Dark. Look closely, and you’ll see two grand trines, facing in near-opposite directions. Long before this sacred geometry was called the Star or Shield of David, Hindus named it the Shatkona—a form within the nine interlaced triangles of the Sri Yantra. The yantra symbolizes the entire cosmos, the eternal union of divine masculine (Shiva) and divine feminine (Shakti).

On Diwali, we honor Lakshmi, goddess of abundance, and celebrate the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil.

Libra’s Leadership of Connection

This New Moon reminds us: abundance and prosperity are found in our connections—the people we love, the people who love us, and the people we serve.

Libra, the true connector of the zodiac, leads by introducing her favorite people, activating her endless rolodex, and creating magic through relationships. She knows that alchemy happens when the right people come together—when she bridges, facilitates, and negotiates with grace.

We all carry a bit of Libra, whether or not we have planets in the sign. It’s the part of us that delights in long conversations with dear friends, marvels at beauty, and naturally sees the best in others… even if we might quietly suggest a different color to flatter their skin tone.

My recent diagnosis and 🎁

If you’ve been reading my emails lately, you may have noticed me hinting at a recent diagnosis. I don’t share this for sympathy—please don’t be sorry for me. I share it because it was an eclipse moment that shocked me and threw me on a different path.

Last month, right in the midst of Eclipse season, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. In true Libra fashion, this has revealed itself as a gift—bringing me back to truth, balance, and connection. I finally understand why I’ve been so depressed, lethargic, and unwell for so long. And I see now that there is a path forward.

The Libra New Moon teaches us that light triumphs when we lean into our relationships and receive support. That’s exactly where I’ve been called to practice: resting when I’d rather push, accepting care when I’d rather give, and remembering that my body is not separate from my leadership, but part of the same harmony I teach about.

At first, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to talk about it. But the more I shared, the more I felt supported—connected to so many others who have survived and thrived after thyroid cancer. Thank you to everyone who has referred me to countless resources and stories of resilience.

I don’t yet have a treatment plan, but my doctors assure me the prognosis is excellent.

I share this because I know I’m not alone. Each of us carries unseen challenges, and each of us is asked to find equilibrium in the midst of them. Libra reminds us that healing is not a solitary journey—it is woven in community, joy, wellness, and love. And the eclipse promised reprioritization.

As I step into this healing journey, I don’t yet know exactly what it will look like. I’ve postponed teaching for now and will be reducing my workload, taking only a handful of 1:1 and done-for-you clients. Thank you for understanding if you’ve been impacted by these changes.

So as you make your Libra New Moon intentions, know that I’m making mine right alongside you: to stay connected, to let light in, and to keep choosing harmony over hustle. I will continue on my healing journey, sharing my voice along the way, I trust I’ll be more balanced, attuned, and joyful.

The Promise of Harmony

This New Moon, and this diagnosis, remind me: the triumph of light doesn’t come from overwork, chasing achievement at all costs, or people pleasing.

True triumph comes from balance—Libra’s equilibrium: work and play, service and rest, contribution and connection.

Emerging from Eclipse Season, we are reminded that our priorities must include joy, wellness, and connection. We cannot lead if we do not rest. We cannot change if our spirits are low. We cannot resource ourselves if we are isolated.

Your true riches are in your relationships.

  •  Libra Joy: Playing dress up, hanging with your bestie, making something beautiful
  • Libra Wellness: Kidney health, lower back and strong glutes. Squat and hydrate!
  •  Libra Connection: 1:1s, win-win-win situations, loyalty and commitment
