Lunar Nodes in Aquarius and Leo: Stretching into Collective, Moving Past Applause
by Leslie TagordaStretching into Collective, Moving Past Applause
The Lunar Nodes shift into a new axis on July 26, 2026, and this Aquarius Leo chapter stays with us through March 26, 2028.
This is a collective recalibration.
Not away from individuality. Not away from creativity. Not away from leadership.
But away from leadership that needs applause to feel real.
For the last year and a half, you have been rewarded for your visioning, for your transcendence, and for your spirituality. That chapter is coming to a close.
So I want you to hold this question as we move through this transit:
How can I move from seeking applause to contributing to the collective?
The Nodal Shift 2026: What North Node in Aquarius Means for Your Business with Sheri Moise
I brought in my friend Sheri Moise, a marketing and planning strategist, certified business astrologer, and founder of the Substack Data Over Drama, to break down this shift through history, financial cycles, and leadership. If you want the deep dive behind everything on this page, start here.

What Is the North Node? A Simple Way to Understand the Lunar Nodes
Before we go into what this shift means, let us start with what the lunar nodes actually are.
The lunar nodes are not planets. They are not physical bodies in the sky. They are calculated points, the places where the Moon’s orbit crosses the Sun’s path. Ancient astrologers of the Indian subcontinent and the Philippines tracked these points and named them the dragon’s head and the dragon’s tail. They passed that science down through mythology, through stories of a dragon swallowing the Sun during an eclipse. That was never just myth. That was observation.
In the episode, Sheri gave me the clearest explanation of the nodes I have ever heard, and I want to share it with you here.
Imagine you have a cup. That cup is your South Node, and it is already full. You come into this lifetime, or we come into this era collectively, with a great deal of knowledge in this area. Keep pouring into it and the cup overflows. You cannot hold it all.
Now picture that same cup turned upside down. That is your North Node. It is what you are reaching for. To fill it, you have to release some of what is in the South Node first.
Every eighteen and a half years or so, the whole collective gets handed a new version of that assignment.
True Node or Mean Node: Why You Are Seeing Two Different Dates
You may see July 26 in one place and August 11 in another. Both are correct, and here is why.
The mean node is an averaged calculation of the nodal position, the method our ancestors used and the one many traditional astrologers still honor. The true node is the exact position, wobble and all, now that we have the ability to calculate it precisely. The gap between them is rarely more than a degree or a degree and a half.
In a natal chart, that degree can matter, especially if you were born with your nodes right at the cusp of a sign. For a collective shift like this one, it matters far less. These points move so slowly that we feel the energy months before the exact date arrives.
So take your pick of the date. The shift is already here.
The Lunar Nodes Shift the Collective Story
In 2026, the Lunar Nodes move into Aquarius and Leo, shifting the axis of destiny away from individual recognition and toward collective contribution.
The North Node shows us where we are stretching, growing, and evolving. The South Node shows us patterns we are outgrowing.
This nodal shift is not about abandoning individuality. It is about understanding how our individuality serves the whole.
And that is the invitation from July 26, 2026 to March 26, 2028.
How can I move from seeking applause to contributing to the collective?
North Node in Aquarius
Stretching into Collective
Aquarius is humanitarian, future focused, and community oriented.
This is the invitation of the North Node in Aquarius:
- We rise through collaboration and collective intelligence
- My differences are my contribution
- I lead by principle, I am enough
- What if there is a better way
- I create community
This is not leadership for applause. This is leadership for humanity.
Aquarius reminds us that progress does not happen alone.
It happens when ideas circulate, when voices gather, when communities form around shared values.
Sheri describes Aquarius as the I within the we, and as an Aquarius myself, I love that framing. It names the necessity of your individual contribution to the whole. You have to be one hundred percent authentically yourself, black sheep and all, so that you can offer your greatest gifts to the collective.
South Node in Leo
Moving Past Applause
As we stretch into Aquarius, we release the shadow expressions of Leo.
What we are dismantling:
- I must lead alone
- I have to fit in
- I need approval and applause from outside
- This is how things are done
- I am on the outside, I do not belong
This is not about rejecting creativity, joy, or self expression. It is about releasing leadership that is driven by validation, performance, and ego.
The question is no longer: How do I stand out?
The question becomes: How do I contribute, and who do I contribute with?
The Last Time the North Node Was in Aquarius
The last time we sat in this exact configuration was December 2007 through August 2009.
Think about what came out of that window. The iPhone arrived and untethered us from our desks. Social media exploded. Bitcoin was born. Decentralization stopped being a theory and started being a product.
That same window also brought the financial crash, defaulting bank loans, and a full reset of the systems underneath all of it.
Sheri has tracked these cycles in the data, and the pattern is hard to unsee. The Great Depression. The market crashes. The big structural breakdowns keep landing on North Node in Aquarius transits.
She frames it through the wheel. Leo is the boom, the peak, the gold rush. Aquarius sits at the bottom of the wheel of fortune. And the nodes move backwards, so from Aquarius we climb: Capricorn to build, Sagittarius to expand, Scorpio to dig into what is not working, Libra for balance and fairness, Virgo for systems and structure.
We have to hit bottom before we can rebuild. That is not doom. That is design.
Other Cycles Layering In
Nothing happens in a silo. This nodal shift is stacked inside much larger movements:
- Pluto in Aquarius, a twenty year cycle already underway, unearthing the dark so we can bring in the light. Pluto breaks down the old structures. The North Node accelerates it.
- The Jupiter Saturn conjunction at zero degrees Aquarius in 2020, which set off an eight hundred year cycle.
- Uranus in Gemini, blowing up how information moves.
Picture a barbecue. You have coals already burning. The North Node is the accelerant.
That is what this transit does. It does not start the fire. It speeds it up.
Leadership in the Age of Aquarius
In the Age of Aquarius, leadership is no longer top down. It is circular, relational, and shared.
If you care, contribute, or create, you are already leading.
The North Node in Aquarius asks us to stop waiting to be chosen and start choosing participation. To stop performing for recognition and start building what lasts.
We are watching the shift happen in real time. Guru culture is winding down. Celebrity culture is winding down. And what I find most interesting is that many of those figures are not falling from grace, they are stepping back on their own. They have decided the pedestal no longer works for them.
Sheri calls what comes next the guide by your side era. Not a leader positioned above you and out of reach. A leader beside you. That is the I within the we.
This is also the age of groups, communities, and connection. That does not mean you have to build your own from scratch. You can be a contributing member of a movement that is already in motion. Even in a one to one container, you can make someone feel like they belong to something.
There will be friction. People in power do not give up power easily. Expect that, and keep going anyway.
Again, the question is not: What will happen to me? It is: How can I move from seeking applause to contributing to the collective?
Find the Nodal Shift in Your Own Chart
Here is how to make this personal.
Pull up your natal chart and look for Aquarius. Because the nodes move in reverse, the North Node crosses in from Pisces at 29 degrees of Aquarius and works its way backward toward the beginning of the sign.
Then ask:
- What house does Aquarius occupy in my chart? That is the area of your life and leadership being called into acceleration.
- What house does Leo occupy? That is where you are being asked to release the need for applause.
- Do I have planets in fixed signs? Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, and Scorpio placements will feel this shift most directly.
- What am I here to accelerate right now?
Even if your personal nodes sit somewhere else entirely, and for most of you they will, this transit is still landing somewhere in your chart. Get curious about that Aquarius house. What are you meant to disrupt? What are you meant to be part of?
Discover and Dismantle

The Nodal Reframe
What possibility wants to emerge?
- We rise through collaboration and collective intelligence
- My differences are my contribution
- I lead by principle, I am enough
- What if there is a better way
- I create community
Dismantle
What belief no longer serves?
- I must lead alone
- I have to fit in
- I need approval and applause from outside
- This is how things are done
- I am on the outside, I do not belong
This is the work of the nodes. Not prediction, but preparation.
Your Invitation
Ask yourself:
- Where am I still seeking applause instead of contribution?
- How can my differences serve the collective?
- What community am I being called to build or join?
- What principle am I ready to lead by now?
Aquarius and Leo may sit across from each other, but I do not think they are opposites. Both of them want belonging. One looks for it in recognition. The other builds it in community.
So this is your call to find your people. To make repairs. To reconnect with the ones you want back in your circle. To build a sense of security inside yourself so that belonging is something you create, not something you wait to receive.
This is not about perfection. It is about participation.
Together, we rise.
