Aquarius New Moon – Power to The Multiplicity of People

This is the New Moon where 2025 really opens and sparks anew. The Aquarius New Moon always heralds in the Lunar New Year, celebrated by billions in Asia and now globally. And personally for me is the beginning of the year, with the darkest days of winter (in the northern hemisphere, yet still impacts the southern) now behind us. The light returns.

In Chinese astrology, this lunar new year brings in the year of the Snake, who is yin, a receptive energy symbolizing wisdom, intuition, and deep transformation. I’m not an expert in Chinese astrology, yet in Western Tropical astrology, I do see that this is a year of molting old identities to ignite a new way of bringing light into the world. We all need to be the light and bring in more light.

This New Moon is the first New Moon of 2025, a transition year, where we won’t fully arrive until 2026. It is a New Moon that asks you to call in your people. Shake up your communities. Know yourself deeply. Surround yourself with friends. And to be proud of your quirks and your unique take on the world.

Aquarius is the energy that calls us to innovate, create social impact, and bring together communities through shared social values. It’s the archetype of the changemaker, the humanitarian, the visionary and the forward-thinker who leads simply by seeing differently and being different. This energy is not about blending in—it’s about standing out.

As a fixed sign, Aquarius leans into logic, intellect, and big ideas. Aquarius knows the facts, unusual details, and cutting edge data. As an air sign, Aquarius is social, wanting to create relationships to the many connected through their boundary pushing ideas, shared social values and love of being an early adopter. While Gemini sticks to it’s nearby neighbors and Libra focuses on one-to-one dynamics, Aquarius takes it to the macro level, platforms, networks, social movements, and collective causes.
