What happens when you resist acceptance?
Acceptance is not passive, nor resignation. Acceptance is a healthy adaptive approach to cultivate your truth, your possibility, your choice, and your well being. Acceptance is self care.
- Emotional dysregulation and turmoil
- Stress and physical side effects of stress
- Strained relationships, lack of empathy, understanding, cooperation, communication
- Stagnation and stuckness, missed opportunities, unlucky circumstances, stuck in a rut, inability to change, or evolve, learn from experiences
- Suffering – denying and avoiding reality instead of coming to terms with what you can change and what you can’t
Why acceptance is not a cop out
Acceptance is not about surrendering or giving up. Instead, acceptance is a conscious choice to acknowledge and embrace things as they really are. While still taking responsibility for your actions, making changes when possible or shifting your energy and reaction when change is not possible.
Acceptance requires:
- Active engagement – clarity to make informed decisions on how to move forward
- Emotional resilience – strength and courage to embrace the full spectrum of feelings instead of bypassing, repressing, running away, or blaming. Navigating deep emotions allow you to move through challenging situations instead of getting stuck
- Strategic thinking – to see and understand the reality and focus your energy on what can change and shifting your reaction to what can’t
- Personal Awakening and growth – acceptance creates space for reflection, learning and adaptation so you can grow, develop your gifts, empower your mindset and align with your values
- Emotional well-being – to deny causes suffering, judgment, expectations and the need for control Acceptance allows you to find fulfillment and contentment by embracing what is and cultivating gratitude for what is possible
Types of Acceptance
All these types of acceptance are interconnected. Practicing one, lifts and supports the others. Developing your acceptance practice powers your growth, peace, and well-being.
- Self Acceptance
- Acceptance of Circumstances
- Acceptance of Others
- Emotional Acceptance
- Acceptance of Past
- Acceptance of Change
Self Acceptance – the power of YOU
To be at peace with YOU. REcognizing, embracing and validating who you are at your core. Acknowledging your background, personality, values, strengths, challenges, cultural, racial, social identities. All of YOU.
This is an ongoing practice, takes effort, reflection, discovery, and constant re-evaluation as you evolve. Embracing your star-powered identity is a powerful journey that leads to awakening, fulfillment, empowerment and purpose.
The Power of Acceptance
- Validation of strengths that aren’t traditionally seen as valuable, ie: have been systematically, culturally or societally denied
- Reframing of past hurts and wounds to embrace them as pearls of wisdom and gifts you are meant to offer forward
- Open-hearted knowing of self-limiting beliefs, where they came from and how they influence how you continue to Work. Instead of denying or ignoring, we befriend and comfort them through our Work, leadership and awakening
- Valuing Emotional and Intuitive intelligence/power/labor as a radical act of diversification of leadership, an Intuitive Revolution
- Access to highest potential and direction in life and Work to which navigate towards
- Seeing one’s Work as an extension of your soul on our spiritual journey (Entrepreneurship as a Spiritual Journey)
New Moon at Cancer 24º
July, 17, 2023 @ 11:32 AM PT | 2:32 PM ET
Generally with the Moon in her home sign and on a potent intention setting day, you would expect sensitivity and grace. Thankfully Neptune flows with the Sun and the Moon so you can feel all the feels. Yet Mars and Saturn face off over control, Mercury and Jupiter square off over who knows best, and Pluto confronts your intentions ensuring your power and privilege is not entitled. Yes, it’s a ton to think about and this is where acceptance, kindness, and belonging come in. This is your chance, with this New Moon to come face to face where you’ve been out of control, accept the privileges you’ve been blessed with, and share those blessings with others through your Work. Listen, include, invite and lift in your New Moon intention. What seeds of empowerment and belonging will you plant?
Astro of the New Moon:
- Nodes change axis asks where you now choose to be interdependent to give in mutually beneficial ways – accepting the gift of who you are?
- Mars opposite Saturn asks how you can express your anger and boundaries while honoring how you feel right here and now?
- New Moon opposite Pluto asks if your intention comes from a place of acceptance and empowerment or a place of expectations and entitlement (denial of privilege)
- New Moon trine Neptune asks you to accept your feelings, intuitive wisdom and move in flow with your higher knowing?
